New Favorite Product: SmartyKat

Our little male cat loves to play. 

Loves to.

As in, he looks straight at my husband and meows until he gives in and gets out a toy to play with him.

To give Mr. Man a break, we got one of these SmartyKat Hot Pursuit toys from Amazon.  I think they’re at Super Walmart, too.  Same price.

And both cats love it!

So much so, that I took the advice of one Amazon reviewer, who said she got two toys, placed them apart, and enjoys watching her cat go back and forth between the two of them.

Great idea!

It’s rare that a cat actually plays with what you bought him, so we’re pretty happy.  And if they get tired of it, there’s always the box it came in.

Under Attack

I'm sorry to be MIA lately,

I have been attacked by all the tree pollens.

I love Spring
and all the new greenery,
but apparently it doesn't love me.

Everything seems extra-lush this year,

especially the tulips...

I just gotta make it
'til pollen season is over.

Beyond Puffy!

Our sweet little Pom was diagnosed last summer
with hypothryoidism after I noticed gobs of his fur
coming out when I brushed him and
found discolored patches on his skin that I couldn’t wash off. 

(Thank heavens there’s a blood test,
because his energy level and weight were just fine.)

Well!

The medicine he has been on has definitely been working! 

He has *re-sprouted* over the winter
and I think all his fur has come back and then some!!

No, really.  It’s like he’s exploding with fur!

At first he was easier to groom,
because he lost his wooly undercoat
that makes for so much brushing. 

(That’s an understatement, I might add!) 

Unfortunately, I think it’s coming back, too. 
<boo!>

Oh well -- good thing he’s so cute!

Happy First Day of Spring!

After a long winter for some

(and way too much snow for others),

it is finally time for Spring!

Happy dance!!

The Bradford Pear trees are blooming..

the daffodils are blooming..

and everything is beginning to sprout and come back to life!

(I am trying to enjoy the moment

and not rush ahead to weeds, tornadoes and heat.)

Soon the redbuds will be blooming everywhere

and that is when you want to freeze time, for sure!
